Fordite, also known as Detroit agate, is old automobile paint which was formed from the build up of layers of enamel paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were hand spray-painted in the Ford Plants. This process is no longer used so this material is limited & coveted. It’s truly a piece of Detroit history! I bezel set the Fordite ( 7/8″ x 5/8″ at widest) in fine silver .999 to a hammered and shaped solid sterling silver background. Sterling silver scroll design. I used a gorgeous teardrop piece of Larimar ( just over 5/8″ x 1/2″) from the Caribbean. The pattern in this Larimar looks like tropical water with sky above. This is top quality A+ Larimar. Bezel set in fine silver .999 to an organic shaped and hammered sterling silver background. Sterling silver scroll & bead detail. Height is 1 1/4″ and with is 3/4″ at widest. Metal is brought to a high polish. I used an amazing piece of Titanium
Druzy Agate (25mmx 18mm) in this pendant. The Druzy has a full spectrum of colors in the crystals that sparkle in the light. Bezel set in fine silver .999 to a sterling silver background. I added a sterling silver wave that curves around the stone. Sterling silver beaded detail at the bottom of the stone. Brought to a high polish, mirror-like finish. Total height is 2 1/2″ and 1 1/8″ at widest. This is a substantial piece with full silver background- I used 20gauge silver sheet on this design. Matching ring available. I used a piece of Orthoceras (1 3/4″ x just over 1/2″ at widest) and wrapped it with sterling silver wire & beads to create this one of a kind edgy pendant. Orthoceras is a fossil that is 400+ years old. I find it fascinating and dramatic! Total length is 2 1/4″. I finally got my hands on the very coveted and rare White Buffalo Turquoise! This pure white Turquoise looks amazing with the patterns of black Matrix. I used an awesome piece of rare White Buffalo Ribbon Boulder Turquoise ( 20mm x 13mm at widest) in this striking pendant. Bezel set in fine silver .999 to a hammered and patina sterling silver background. This metal is called silver filled. It is thick sterling silver on the front and back with brass in the middle to cut down on the cost of the material. It looks like & will hold up exactly like solid sterling silver.
